Tracing back to the very first polo shirt
The Paper Pattern Polo is entirely manufactured in the Troyes factory where René Lacoste created the very first "L.12.12" polo shirt in 1933, the one that started it all. Ninety years later, the Lacoste success story continues to spread around the world.

A moving design. From yesterday to today.
An anniversary calls for celebration! To keep the story alive, the Lacoste teams imagined the Paper Pattern Polo as a tribute to the L.12.12. Perfectly mixing avant-garde style with know-how, they had the ingenious idea of embroidering it with the L.12.12 pattern created by René Lacoste himself, hence its name: "Paper Pattern".
Behind the scenes of the making of Paper Pattern Polo, with those who created it.

A masterpiece of know-how made in France
Knitted in Petit Piqué cotton, Lacoste's signature knit, the Paper Pattern Polo combines machine and hand embroidery. Just like the L.12.12, it undergoes extensive checks and is stitched with the 2367-point Crocodile logo for a piece that is entirely cut and assembled in Troyes.
Halfway between emotion and tradition, the Paper Pattern Polo reveals Lacoste's full DNA in this iconic piece. Worn by teams true to the spirit of the brand's founder, this special edition polo shirt is a 'best of' of Lacoste values: know-how, innovation and team spirit. Forever leveraging our origins...
